Tips to Take the DLW Quiz:

  • Black book (index)
  • this wiki page (no word/no spell check)
  • ask questions of Mrs Badgley
  • get the numbers (write them on the sheet)
  • use extra time
  • fix obvious errors and mark them off
  • easy stuff first
  • bonus section at the bottom (guess)
  • dictionary (book not computer)
  • before you add in commas, take out the unnecessary ones first

Notes for the DLW Sentences and Quizzes:
  • Unnecessary- take out a comma that is not needed.
  • Spelling-Fix it. A lot is two words
  • Comma (Other)- needs a comma
  • Noun- person,place,thing, or an idea
  • Right Word
  • There- a place
  • Their- a possessive
  • They're- a contracting between they and are
  • Pronoun- he, she,him, her, them, us, we, they, and other
  • Comma to Separate Adjectives- if u have two adjectives or more in front of a noun u need a comma
  • Spelling- Rights- morally good, justified, or acceptable
  • Wrights- a maker or builder
  • Rites- a religious or other solemn ceremony or act
  • I before E except after C
  • Nonrestrictive Phrase or Clauses- phrase that is not necessary in a sentence.
  • Apostrophe- showing possession/ownership
  • I before E except after c and when sounding like A as in neighbor and weigh and on weekends and holidays and all throughout may and you'll always be wrong no matter what you say.
  • Run-on sentence- a sentence is too long and you either need to add a semicolon or a period and a cap.
